What's the newest version of Direct X?

DX 9.0C is the latest and last version of DX for XP. 10 is out but is only for Vista, and all future DX will Vista only.

Hopefully this will push developers back to OpenGL.

Really? Huh last I heard MS was swearing up and down they wouldn't do DX10 for XP

MS aren't making DX 10 for XP. It's other programmers/crackers who are doing that.
