Get that one for your friend. Copper Heat-Spreader > Aluminum Heat-Spreader.

how much ram does he have right now?

I bet the CAD rendering is limited to the throughput of his video card - even high end gaming ones dont necessarily run big projects well because they're not designed for that kind of rendering.

My dad uses CAD for his work and you don't need to clock the ram that high. You just need amount of ram and CPU speed.

ok i told my freind to get the orange g-skill's i think i may pick up those same ones tho, even though every1 will tell me to get the 2gb HZ's

The HZ clock faster but the extra memory is what you need for CADing. As for gaming, you know the opposite is true.
