LGA 775

I was just looking at intel processors and found the new socket LGA 775 series. What is this? How does it perform compared to the prescott socket 478?

I'm not an expert on processors but I would guess more pins mean more power?

Haven't heard of the socket myself, and apparently neither have you, would try to get some more information before doing anything drastic.

yea that's the new p4 chip i think.. it's got more and more power... I almost cried when I saw the LGA 775 benchmarks against an amd 3200 64... it was a 3.4E and a 3.6EE that the AMD was tested against, so not much comparison
