7900gt to 7950gt

ok so im getting my card back and i am receiving this as a replacement originaly i was told id receive a 8800gts 320 mb but they are curently out of stock so im am receivign this instead XFX - Products GeForceâ„¢ 7900 : Models

that card is replacing this XFX - Products GeForceâ„¢ 7900 : Models

is that a descent upgrade? or are they the same on performence

Same sort of thing happened with my friend's EVGA 7900GT, EVGA replaced his with a 7950. Although that was kind of a downgrade because his 7900GT was pre-overclocked higher than the 7950 (probably the reason behind it needing replaced lol). Although the performance between them is very small.

The 7950 is basically just a 7900 with higher clocks, so it will be faster, but not much faster I would think.

if you got it for free **** yeah but i wouldnt upgrade to it for anything since there isnt much of a performance increase

yeah agreed, its not really a big increase in performance, but hey its free so you wont be dissatisfied.

i looked at bench marks and i saw an average of a 10 fps increase over the other one wich isnt bad really if u think about it its a 25% increase in performence if its at 60 fps
