BIOS access

ive already asked a similar question to this before but that post had already expired.

how do i access my BIOS (del,F1-F12,Esc dont work)

machine model:Compaq 166 Mhz MMX
BIOS device: Microsoft provided driver for Plug and Play BIOS
Hint: the first screen when you open the computer doesnt tell anything on how to access the BIOS. please help.

do you have a motherboard manual?

Try one of these most common key combinations durring Start up
( Delet ,F1 ,F2 , Ctrl Esc , Alt Esc ,Hold Esc Key on Power up ).
Do this rather quickly when you 1st power up your system.
If you miss the time frame press Ctrl-Alt-Delete at the same time to restart your system and try again .If you have a newer keyboard.Make sure your FLock Light is lit up durring the keystroke by pressing the Flock key 1st .Some keyboards dont Auto power on this feature durring bootup.

F2 on boot up seems to be a common one on a computer of that vintage.

this i an old second hand computer so i didnt get any manuals nor a valid OS license when i got it.

push pause then look for the text on the screen telling you how to open bios

look for some info on the motherboard and post what you find maybe we can direct you to a manual for it .Or for premade systems such as Dell/Gateway/HP look for a model Name or serial
number on the case to track down info with.Compaq 166 is not enough.
