is the sennheiser's mic adjustable? i can't really tell from taht picture, it looks like you can't really move it anywhere

i would get an x230's but i need them to have a headphone jacks in them, plus i live in an apartment, and i don't think my neighbors would appreciate me blasting my music

They do have a headphone jack in them....its on the right speaker

EDIT: The picture on newegg has the left speaker the one with the jack but regardless they do have a jack.

After buying the X-FI Xtreme Gamer sound card and a good set of cans.....I am for sure that is the right direction to go.
