Now without doubt this has been posted somewhere on these forums before, but I've done a search and came up empty handed :(

If anyone has a good how-to for that I'd really love to see it. I gave it a try but there was too much cross-talk in my attempt.

Steps with a Ultra ATA 100 cable would be the best.

Thanks in advance!! :)

found this http://www.hot-mods.com/roundedcables.htm

Uhh, my guess would be to Fold a ribbon cable as tight as possible, and sleeve it.. with http://xoxide.com/heshtu.html or http://xoxide.com/wiresleeves.html ..

It would be a pain in the ass, but you could make little slits with a razorblade inbetween each wire of a ribbon cable.. then pull it apart and sleeve it

Someones going to tell me that its an electrical hazerd or something and its probobly very easy to **** up the cord doin this.. I dont know. Just guessing

and now that I think of it sleeves would cost as much as rounded cabless...

ive done it before. Use a piece of cardboard for like a base and use a sharp razor blade and every 3 little cables, cut it stright down. I just bought them later so..

in my opinion it would be a waste of time, especially if the rounded cables cost the same as the heatshrink tubing.

Yes i have done this mod. Actually about mm 2 days ago. And it doesnt work very well. I cut every 2. It worked good on floppy cables. But for the life of me i kept cutting into the ide cables. Especially the new ones that have super thin cables. It would be much better just to buy the round ide cables. You can buy the 3 pack with 2 ide and 1 floppy for like 4.99 on ebay.

Hahahaha, screw it...

Attempt #2 ended like #1 with cross-talk. Those ATA100 cables are filled with hatred for me. I think I'll just go buy some in the end! Cheers all for the suggestions!!
