No raid does not lower the lifespan. What you may have heard is that the probablitity of a HDD failure is increased with RAID0. This is due to to the fact you are splitting the files over 2 HDDs so if one fails then all you files are lost - basically.

RAID0 is a bit more risky, but HDDs are so reliable these days you shouldnt have a problem.

The Tuniq is one of the best HSFs out there. It's recommended a lot, because it really cools. Another cheaper alternative, that I forgot to mention, is the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro. This would do fine, for the e6750, and much cheaper than the Tuniq. The thermal paste, that everybody would suggest is AS5. It's just an excellent paste for the money.
the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro comes with MX-1 which on the "Battle of the Thermal Pastes" thread ranked higher than the AS5

its also funny that the mx-1 is the same price as the AS5, maybe the AS5 price's went up because it was so popular

Many don't know of the MX-1, because the AS5 has been shoved up everybody's thread, dealing with thermal pastes. Theres also MX-2, but I haven't heard much of it.
