FarCry is the first game to take advantage of DX9. It is evident both inside and outside with their vertex and pixel shaders. If you look into a hot area like through steam, you'll see the heatwave. Also note how the water breaks and distorts rocks when you're in shallow water. It all makes for a real life like display. The use of dynamic shadows is so well implemented that you'll be able to see moving shadows on your forearm when moving through the jungle. Graphic wise, it is the first game to show so much details. I loved it.
