if you have 1 pci slot free and one dies then you have none. So in some cases that fan wouldn't work.

The RFX rosewill fan uses a 4 pin mole power connector from the PSU...you don't need to insert it into a PCI slot...you just need an empty expansion bay underneath you GPU. I have my RFX fan in the slot where one of my PCI-E x1 slots are.

The fan is very nice because it sucks the air straight out of your card.
