I currently have a Asus A7V motherboard, socket A and I am about to upgrade, can I use my old PSU or do I need a new one for the AM2 mobo?

My current PSU is 450W.

does it have a four pin cpu power connector?
it should be a 20+4 connector for am2...depending on mobo. the evga i listed in your other post will need 8 pins (in works on 4, but for arguments sake it needs 8), but newegg sells a 4 to 8 pin cpu power connector.
by the way, you can ask more than one question in a post, so it makes it easier for us to answer your questions at once.
plus, it cuts down on the clutter ;)

Thanks, sorry, I usually have a hard time getting detailed answers if I post too many questions.

I will have to check the connection on my PSU, if it does work is there any loss of performance using the 4 instead of 8?

Another thing I noticed is some of the PSU's have SATA plugs and that type of thing, what does that do that a normal PSU won't be able to do (does that make sense)
