Missing Partition

How can I recover a formatted drive. Does anyone know of a free ware that I can use to recover my files?I am using an XP home ed

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I think getdataback will work there is a free trial not sure if there are any limitations to it though:

there won't be a 100% guarantee if you formatted your drive unless you kept it untouched after format but even after format maybe only 99% may be there and also it is possible that file could be recovered.

thank you so much for the quick response. I've tried downloading get data back software but it did not work . I was able to search by limewire virtual lab recovery sample edition and it can work but can only accomodate 1mb. and I got 200 gigabytes in there. I'm now trying another file recovery and I am still recovering files. Man, at this now for over 24 hours....... okey, i'ved learnt my lesson... SHOULD HAVE MADE BACK UP !!!!!
