Help!!!

I've been trying to install XP Pro on my PC but for some reason everytime I boot from the CD, I get press any key to boot from the CD and when I do it the pc reboots and the same thing happen. Is it that the CD is badly scratched?
That same day I installed it by a friend and it worked fine but when I reach home he asked to start windows narmally but won't. My friend has an Intel board and I have an Amd (Biostar)

do a memory test download Windows memory diagnostic Microsoft Online Crash Analysis & read the instructions on the page,, I would let it run for about 2 or 3 hours

its bootable to so burn it to cd & try & boot of it just like u do with your windows cd

After it loads the files on the hard drive, do not press any key when it restarts so it can boot from the hard drive instead of the cd drive (or change the boot order on restart).

No he cant even load the setup files on...

It could be that your CD drive is too old.

Yea swap cd drives.. use the 1 from your other system that u said your cd works on..
