Intel Core 2 Duo Has 'Non-Fixable' Bugs, OpenBSD Founder Alleges

With the recent release of a microcode reliability update on Microsoft's site that addresses a handful of Intel Core 2 processors, concern over the pervasiveness of bugs in some of the company's latest processors is growing, especially now that OpenBSD founder Theo de Raadt released his own rundown of outstanding, fixed, and what he deems as "non-fixable bugs."

Interesting and even Linux Torvalds weighs in. It's hard to say what the consequences are yet but it could be another FDIV.

Weird...I haven't heard one complaint on a C2D yet. I've never had a problem either. They will probably be addressed by patches, but I don't see why, when there really hasn't been a problem reported, with C2Ds.

Linus is more credible than that no name Raadt guy. Every CPU has minor errata error, I don't think it's that big of a deal, he's just worry they could end up being exploited security wise.
