Please help installing hd in old comp..

Hi. I am trying to install a new hard drive in an old hp computer. I install windows in the new hd ( install in another comp) now that I put the hd in it says operating system not found, what should I do to make work? I am installing the hd because the one that came with it broke down and I couldn't install a fresh copy of windows in it.

you should install the new HD on the computer your going to use it in because it has different hardware from the other computer you installed OS on it

install the blank HDD, put in the windows cd/dvd and then when the pc boots up it will go onto the installation screen, then install windows?
