To add another side to this discussion, couldnt he just buy a 8800GTX, and softmod it to be a top of the line quadro, that would normally be much more? I have herad about people doing this before.

Agreed, sorry for getting off topic NOGA. The above build should work great for your needs. I'd get a motherboard that doesn't have SLI as you won't need it. Heres specifically what I would get...

The motherboard has a built in raid controller. Unless your are using a ton of drives or plan on using scsi drives you shouldn't need one.

Oh...I'm not sure about that. I think it should fit though. The cooler you want, is way cheaper at svc.com:
