Hi,

I am pretty sure this is XP issue so i posted it in windows software forum.

Friend of mine called me the other day since both of his memory sticks quit working. XP won't recognized them. He tried different brands and no go. XP won't recognized them regardless of the brand.
He tried same sticks on different xp machine and they are working fine.
He tried different kinds of devices (usb cam and printer) int the same usb port where memory stick wouldn't work, and both usb cam and printer are working fine.
I have tried upgrading the drivers and reinstalling it with no go.

Anyone has any idea on what this could be?
I am stumped.

Two things i want to try is to delete registry keys or just reinstall the XP , but i wanted to see if anyone has any better ideas.

System restore was off so that is not an option.

Thanks in advance

If it works on one computer than tell your friend to move the data on to that computer temporarily and do a full format of the sticks. The sticks are probably no more than 4gb i assume so don't do a quick format. That may solve the problem.
