Money..Don't help...

All my life i've been using a crappy 1.6 Ghz dell.

I finally got enough money to build a good gaming computer...
Here are Specs.

Processor: AMD Athalon 3200+
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon 9600xt
RAM: 512 Mb of RAM from Mwave
Motherboard: ASUS A7V600-X

I have 3 fans in case and one on cpu and on power supply

I would think that a pretty damn good gaming computer but when i play any game call of duty, halo, planet side, battle field, or even counter-strike it runs slow.

I have all the drivers and updates and Direct X 9.0 + hot fix

Please tell me why my computers running slow and tell me how to fix it.

For games it runs really slow like i mean slow slow laggy choppy graphics

i have never heard of that ram brand and iv gone threw a lot of ram. I would suspect it is generic and that may be one of your problems. Replace it with corsair or kingston.

but gfx cards have their own ram. it shouldnt affect gaming performance that much. id try the ram in a friends computer before replacing it. update the vid card drivers too. if your computers still having problems, even when u try swapping ram with a friend, RMA the vid card
