New WD SATA ?

i had the same problem with my new WD sata II 250GB , didnt want to get recognized. anyway turned out to be a dead sata cable, luckily my motherboard came with a spare :) .

check in your BIOS that sata in slots ...... are enabled , and that your sata cable is working

You are correct. But with this model I checked their website and it said that you had to. they even had a FAQ sheet on how to do it that I posted earlier. Good thinking on checking the SATA cable. With the fact sometimes bios sees it and sometimes not that is very possible.
