Re-install of Dell Dimension 4600

Hey Im trying to reinstall my dell computer but when I load the CD into the drive that dell provided it doesnt do anything. So I shut the computer off with teh disc in the drive and turned it back on but then the disc still didnt load. I think it mite be the CD drive. Is there any other way to reinstall a fresh copy of it without using the CD Drive or not?

You have to access the boot menu. Its F12. Alternate btw. those once you press the power button.

Often times preassembled computers have the hard drive as the first boot option. You'll want to go into the BIOS and change the boot order so that it checks the CD Rom drives first.

it could also be the cd your using.

The cd works, as jorsoft03 mentioned, you need to set the computer to boot off cd

I already set it to boot the CD drive first now the drive doesnt work at all and isnt listed in my computer. Is there anyway I can reinstall the CD drive?

I contacted dell and they said I need a new drive. Where Can I get the exact same drive for the D4600. Its the CD-RW/DVD Rom Drive.

you could use any cd rom drive. maybe ebay or amazon might have one.
