For some reason Windows still wont find my hard drive when i try to install my OS. Here is my setup....

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 1MB L2 cache
ABIT KV8-MAX3 MOBO
1 GIG Corsair XMS TwinX series RAM - 2 x 512
Hitachi Deskstar 160 GB SATA hard drive
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro Video Card
Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum
Cooler Master Wave Master Case - Black
Enermax 470 Watt Noisetaker PSU

Some help would be greatly appreciated, I havent even got to install an OS on this beast yet and man am I itchin to play some FARCRY. Everytime i run the setup for Win XP it gets all the way to the point of formatting and then tells me that there is no hard drive. I have read your post on how to install them and followed it and it still did the same thing.

PLZ HELP

Update your bios to the latest version; make sure your bios is set to allow booting to Serial ATA drives (does your bios have built in SATA ports and a controller?). If all these conditions are met and you are still having trouble booting, try removing all unnecessary IDE devices if they are present (Zip drives, extra CD drives, etc.).

streamline install with latest service pack or set to IDE comp since XP (if it doens't include it) has problems with SATA that was corrected with SP release
