I have searched multiple websites and mags, and still haven't decided, which GPU! I have narrowed it down to a few. The 8800gts would be my choice but $259 is out of my budget, 260-280 INCLUDING the purchase of a GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3R LGA 775 Intel P35 Mainboard (thanks for the advice). Heres my options,

-MSI NX8600gt (560/1600) ($139)
-Saphire x1950xt ($179.99 (A bit over budget))
-Saphire x1950pro ($136.99)

I slightly prefer NVidia, but not enough to risk performance. DirectX 10 gives amazing detail and surely al games will eventually be DX10 only (then DX11). I cannot afford to be shelling out on a new GPU in a years time, my budget is cr*p. Also I will be overclocking to get the best performance. So very simply, which one!

I'll tell you that with the 8600GT, you won't really get a good performance with DX10 games.

I think he should go with the x1950xt. It's pwns the other two, he had in mind.

The first DX10 games are supposed to have a DX9 compatibility mode anyways. So the x1950xt is going to be the winner here. And if i were you i would save up a little longer to get the 800gts it rocks, but if not the x1950xt is a sure thing.

he said the 8800GTS is out of his budget and the X1950XT is a choice so easily its the X1950XT because its the most powerful...however if thats even too much the X1950PRO s a good card. heh try and stick to the options given people..
