e6420 & e6400

I'll will end up staying with the e6420 as it already well documented it can reach 3.6-3.8 with a great overclocking mobo, a very good aftermarket cpu cooler and a very good cooling case. I was just curious whether anyone had heard if the new cpu would be better.

I don't think it will be that much better. They're just introducing new models and more choices, with a higher FSB. The higher FSB is not that much better either.

I would have thought that: (referring to the e6x50 series)

Higher stock FSB= lower multiplier= lower OCing potential.

That's what I have been hearing. Still alot of speculation until someone gets ahold of one and starts running some tests.

actually e6420's are rumored to hit 3.2-3.3 ghz... and struggle getting past that....

The new factory OC'd big brother cpu to the e6420 will be out 22 july I believe. The e6750 will have a 1333 fsb and clocked at 2.66mhz and priced at $186. Can't wait to see how this OC's but I have been reading that they think it could be a nice OC around 3.6-3.8 with a lower volt of around 1.3. Any one seen anythnig else about these new CPUs?
