Alright I'm building a comp for a buddy of mine, which of these will be best?
Newegg.com - Open Box: MSI P6N SLI-FI LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard - OEM w/ E2140
OR
3600 brisbane + Tfroce 550?
edit:
I will be overclocking this to max, but I want to know if that MSI board is good for overclocking, it's the only board I can get for the price, otherwise I'll just get the 3600+, OR.. If there really is not a big difference between the two, I'll just get a 3600+

msi board is a good overclocker... but u paired it with a low-end core 2 duo(pentium dual-core) the 2140 can hit 3.1 ghz, the x2 3600+ hits 3.0 ghz easily.... but clock speeds really don't matter much... i would take the AMD tho.....

ya... unless u want to upgrade to a quad-core penryn or wolfdale.....that would be the only reason u see me (or many ppl) get a e21xx series

The Wolfdale is the is quad-core version of Penryn.

But yea....you can take the e2140 pretty far with a Gigabyte P35-DS3R, aftermarket cooling, and a pair of HZs.

But overall, will the 3600+ outperform the E2140? What about both at 3.0ghz?
