I have an old machine that i use as one of my servers, and would like to know if it is compatible.

Usually, im able to trust my own judgement, but not anymore when i put some kingston valueram in a machine supporting the exaxt spec, but the machine did not boot due to incompatability with chip number uneven chip quantity and partitioning of blocks across the chips.
Grant it, it was probably some POS HP/DELL/Compaq.

Anyways

The motherboard is an ASUS P4T-E
From specs
64Mbit, 128Mbit, and 256Mbit supported
PC800, 184pin, non-ecc(will take ecc ram, but wont enable ecc)

I have 512 megs or ram in there right now....

I was looking KTD-DM800E/1024 [2x 512] to add to this machine.
Origionally, this ram was made for the dell workstations that support rambus, and therefore many sites cite this compatability as the only one, but then it wouldnt conform to ieee spec making it NOT rambus.
The specs of this ram are:

KTD-DM800E/1024
2x 512MB/16 ECC
512M-byte(256M-word x 18-bit) Direct Rambus(TM) DRAM RIMM(TM) Module
ECC
PC800

Any compatibility problems ?
