I am going to be building a new computer at the end of july and would like some imput. It's going to be used for mid to high gaming. I am trying to keep it at least somewhat affordable.

CPU: Waiting for intel's price drop. Going to go for e6600 or e6750

Mobo: Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3R LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard

RAM: Newegg.com - G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ

HDD: Newegg.com - Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3320620AS (Perpendicular Recording Technology) 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

Sound: Newegg.com - Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer 7.1 Channels PCI Interface Sound Card

The only things I am having trouble with are the video card, PSU, and case.

Video card I was originally thinking 8600, but would it be better to spend the extra cash for an 8800?

The case I am having some trouble deciding, just needs good airflow, as I am going to be looking into overclocking.

nice build,

vga: 8800gts 320mb worth the extra over a 8600
psu: corsair 520watt
case: centurion or antec 900

Hey Cassius Clay,
Welcome to T.F.!!

What is your overall budget?

The parts you linked are great choices.

About the video card, the 8800 series is much worth it for gaming than the 8600 series.

For the case, I would recommend the Antec 900.

edit: Agreed with kobe24, with the PSU.

lol....well those parts have been recommended over and over and over, by mostly everybody.

Thanks for the replies.

Alright, I think I am going to go with the psu and antec 900. As for the 8800, I think I might be getting that, but not until I get money saved up this fall.

Also, with the price drops coming the 22nd you think there will be a noticeable difference in performance between the 6600 and the 6750?

Not really.....I see the e6750 as an overclocked e6420, because of the x8 multiplier.
