Hello All?

I have a Windows XP pc that had some troubles recently so I peformed a Windows overwrite. This sorted the problems out but now the CD-Rom device is queried in the Device Manager.

I have installed a second CD-Rom drive but the same thing happens. I have removed the devide both in normal mode and safe mode and when Windows boots back up, it queries the driver install.

Stuck!

Any suggestions.....

Thing is....this drive worked fine before the the over write! Obviously the drive works fine as the files installed ok from the CD.

Have played around with drivers.....??

Does your motherboard have IDE specific drivers to help it run? CDRom drive have any drivers that come with it? I know my motherboard didnt allow me to use any devices until I installed the nForce 2 drivers it came with. Not sure why but thats how it finally let me use my dvd writer and zip drives. Other than that I am at a loss for what the problem could be :(
