Run games and music off of an External HD

I only got 3.2 gigs on my HD so I got a new external HD and I need to know if you can runn games and ITunes from it so I don't fill up my internal HD. Need help!

itunes yes.. games might run to slow. Try moving some of your files over to your external. Only 3.2 gigs left dude maybe you should reboot and copy the files worth keeping to the external.

i dont only have 3.2 left my system broke and i am gonna get a new one soon but my friend loaned me a dell optiplex w/ xp pro celeron 400mhz and 128 ram just to manage my ipod and do stuff online till i get my new comp. So i can't delete files to free up space I think I only have like 300 megs free
so the ? is will i bve able to use the external till i get a new comp

How do you do it then?

Plug in the ext. drive, windows will recognize the drive and initialize/mount it.

After that you will have a drive letter assigned to that hard drive, if you're going to install a game or copy data, simply use the drive letter for the ext. hdd instead of the C:\
