I've just assembled my computer, and on startup it makes happy noises. I believe it is now possible to enter the bios setup program without any special utilities or bootable disks?

My asus manual talks a great deal about bios utilities that can be downloaded from the internet and bootable floppy disks. It talks a great deal about using utilities to 'update' the bios. These are not neccessary are they?

A BIOS flash is not required. You should only Flash the BIOS if it allows for more OC Options or if you are have problems.

Just boot into a OS disk and install whatever OS you purchased...
