X800 Pro problems...terrible

Is it shop bought or home made?

If shop bougbht ring their tech support, if its your own build, you have screwed up im afraid. My mate got a x800 pro and farcry looks the bomb.

Its home made, but that shouldn't make a difference. It is definately either a driver or a game problem, for there are a few other people experiencing it.

I fixed it. There is a bug that causes this to happen if the shadows are set to anything above medium on an ATI card...it will be fixed by the patch.

must be x800 prob. cause I didn't have any problems with my 9800 pro and this game rocks

are you using OpenGL or Direct3D?
- as I recall, Farcry was optimised for Nvidia's cards and I don't think it was 'officially' tested on an ATI X800

Direct3D. I turned the shadow detail down to medium and now it is going very smooth. Very immersive and challenging game!

No, they should just make a newer series of drivers. The Catalyst sucks, every driver update barely make any changes and the control panel sucks too.
