I've seen single drive enclosures, but, Iam more interested in the advertise towers. These machines that hold three or four hard drives and plug in through firewire to your machine. I have some ide hard drives that i would rather put into that and risk building a new machine.

the machine iam talking about is called LaCie.
here's there website : LaCie - External Hard Drives, Network Hard Drives, RAID, Monitors, DVD, Blu-ray

la cie is a make not a model like sony, toshiba........ ifyou have space internally you will get better performance mounting these drives otherwise external raid is a good choice the boxes are ugly as **** though lol

you can get ones that plug into network ports and act as network storage thus you can hide it somewhere near you router out the way

or you can convert an old computer into network storage it only needs 500mhz of cpu and it will work perfectly also yo can jst keep cramming in hdd's that way if you have a large case
