I am gonna build a computer, my mom is buying it for me for graduation.
I know very little about computers, so i need help picking out the parts. I have a 700$ budget.

Two easy question for you.
What will you want to do with this computer.. (Gamming comes to mind)
If possible will you be reusing any parts, like a moniter or speakers. To save money.

I would honestly ask for the money and save up more for a later build.

Yeah, that would probably be better especially if you don't already have a monitor.

and if you're using it for college, you might want to consider a laptop :)

as ste said what will you be using it for?
$700 will you buy you a very decent computer for general use and that can handle the load of many games - keeping in mind this is just for the pc not inc. monitor etc.

Oh I am sorry, I will be using this for gaming. And I don't need a monitor keyboard or mouse.

heatsink comes with proc.
soundcard is built into the MOBO, and is on most, just make sure it has onboard sound
NIC is also on most MOBOs

of course, you could get aftermarket heatsinks, but I have my proc. OCed to 3.0GHz with stock cooling running really stable.

And if you want a boost in sound, then go with a sound card, but My sound is awesome, and I am using the MOBO.

so really those things are up to you.. but you shouldn't need a NIC unless you're going wireless
