its not that i prefer dual core or anything like that, i was just wondering if all programs will benefit from the "quad" cores of the quad? is it something that programers need to add, or is it just done by the cpu.....sry forthe stupid questions

It's alright to ask....that's what we're here for.

To use quad cores efficiently, is up to the programmers.

Not all programs will benefit from quad cores. But games in the future will soon be.

I'm just saying that a quad core for $270, is a great deal and hard to pass up.

whats up wiht new egg and their crazy price for the quad core.....i thought they were supposed to go down....new egg is still in the $3xx range.....anybody know why

do i need to buy a special mobo for a quad core or is it the same stuff as the one listed above, cus in my newegg newsletter it talks about a quad core mobo and i was wondering if there is a diffrence or if that is just a useless feature they are using as a selling point... tks for the help again

You don't need a special motherboard for the quad core processor. You just need one, that is compatible and supports a quad core.
