as the title suggest, i finished building my computer. i redid the hsf and all that. im ready to turn it on, but i dont know what to do after that. like setting up the bios and whats cmos? like how do i get it so i can use it? lol

refer to manual, usually if you dont plan to o/c then just go ahead and check temps from bios. then install windows

Now your Overclock Like No Tommorow.

Heres A Guide
Core2Duo Overclocking Guide v1.1

I don't know if the Guide includes your Proc so I suggest Making these Changes right away.
RAM Timmings to 4-3-3-10 (Or 4-4-4-12 if you want to play it safer)
Set CPU frequency to either 320 or 340 (From 266.5)
Vcore to 1.4
MCH, FSB Voltage to + .1
and RAM Voltage to +.2

From there you can test stability and keep OCing

BTW, what CPU Cooler?

Use TAT or Coretemp to Moniter Temps and Orthos or StressCPU2 to test for stability. (Short Tests)
Download Windows SMP Folding for longer tests, and to fold Obviously..

wait, um, i dont even have my computer on... i got everything hooked up, connected the psu to an outlet and when i turn the PSU on, the LED comes on for a second, and all the fans spin for a second and then it shuts off... then when i try to turn it on by the power button nothing happens... whats up?

Might be a short out.

Bare bone Test outside case.

Place motherboard on non conductive surface, only have RAM, Video card and CPU Connected.

Turn it on, if you Hear POST beep, place back in case and try everything again.
