Monitoring Temperatures

58 degrees Centigrade is hotter than I would like my HDÂ’s to run at, it may be an idea to do something about that. HD coolers, or improved case ventilation will quite likely sort you out.

I have 1 80mm fan in the back blowing in and one 120mm fan in the front blowing in. I also have round cables. Even my Cpu runs at a descent temp of 45C when stressed and 32 when idle. The case temp is 25C. How come my hd is hot?

i would make one of those fans an exhaust that way you have a flow of air thru the case. If your HD needs defragging it may be that it is overworking itself reading/writing info. Is it an older HD? How many processes are running (normally)?

Edit: read this link on HD's: http://www.hddtemp.com/

There are normally 30 processes running. I guess you can say my hd is old because it runs at 5200rpm (<-- I'm laughing at myself) but I did buy it new. Thanks for the link. I'll try it out and i might just switch that fan into an outtake, and i'll defrag the hd. Thanks everyone!
