I am wanting to overclock my computer and I have never done that before. I dont have the slightest clue on how to even start the process of overclocking and I dont want to go to far because this is the familey computer so I dont want to burn up the motherboard or something. Is their any way to see the temp of the computer with some kind of program with out adding a component to the computer and also what is a safe temp range for a computer with the stock colling system?

So unspecific.

List Computer Specifications. (Including exact models of MOtherboard, proc, RAM, power supply and heatsink.
What is room temparture.

Programs to moniter temps include but are not limited to, TAT (If Intel), Speedfan, everest, Core temp.

try Google first and read various articles and reviews where a cpu or ram is overclocked. then search for "overclocking faq". that should yield a few results.

THEN come back at us with some hardware specs
