Screen going black for a split second

This has happend 3 times since last night.

Sound or operation of my system is inturrupted the screen just goes black for a split second then comes back nothing else seems effected.

what could it be? Monitor problem? Graphics card?

I think it has something to do with videos because every time it's happend I was watching a video

try updating the drivers...I had a problem like that awhile back and it was just a driver problem..

I agree with gurusan, first try updating your drivers and if it happens again post your video card and mobo info.

How do I update my drivers?

My Graphics card is a Gforce 5500

NVIDIA Drivers you can find the drivers for youre card there. And i have to agree its definitely a driver problem.

Ok I got the driver and now these things are added to my start up menu

is ok to disable them?

yes, along with the bottom one as well.

did you check to make sure that the connections are all secure. I don't know what kind of monitor you have, but if its a flat panel, be sure to check both the connection to the computer, but also the connection from the cable to the back of the monitor. also, check to make sure the power cable is secure.

i don't recommend removing them when i did my 6800gt would act strange and it even made me think it was dead because it was artifacting, then i enabled those startup items again though and problem solved.
