Can't be a problem with DirectX, because this sounds like a hardware problem and the OS can't even boot so I don't see how DirectX can do this.
You said it stop beeping? Do you mean it literally just stop or stop beeping like before? Because if POST has detected your hardware is good it will indicate it with a single beep. If NO beep you have a bad or no power to CPU and motherboard. You might also check that the PSU is registering any voltage for the ATX 20/24 pin and the 4/8 pin CPU power connector.
