What RAM slots do you recommend for the mobo?

what do you mean??? well it doesnt matter. my ram slots are in the RED colored slots (on the ds3's there are red and yellow). dont go yellow and red or vice versa.

In order to install the ram, and run them in dual channel mode, it should be in the same colored slots. So either you install the 2 sticks in both yellow slots only, or both red slots only.

ah, ok. I wasn't sure if it was like the P5N-E board where like one color slot doesn't work as well as the other (I think its the black that works better??). So either one, as long as it is in the same color. BTW, I'm ordering the rest of my stuff on Monday!

About the memory....it varies on either colored slots or slots next to each other, with different motherboards, to run the memory on dual channel.

will i be able to tell if it is running dual channel when i start it up or will the manual explain it? i haven't gotten a chance to read it yet.

I think it should show, that the ram is running in dual channel mode during post, when you first turn on your computer.
