well, i got my x1900xt in the mail today... man, is it big... well anyways, i plug it in (i dont have a pci-e power connector for the card, i tried without it) and it didnt turn on. the same thing was with my x300se... you thik it might be my mobo??? or do i need to get a power adaptor for the pci-e??

so should it turn on and display that i need to connect it, or it doesnt have enough power, and will not turn on. i really am getting frustrated with this, any help is appreciated...

Um yes they make PCI-E power connectors for a reason, becuase the mobo itself cannot send through 100 watts alone. The X1900XT is a power hungry card and you will NEED to hook up the PCI-E connector to it.

better safe than sorry. I would get a new PSU that supports the required amperage it needs for your 12v rails.

You could lower your overclock on your E4300 to be safe if you want.

EDIT: He bought his card off ebay and it came without a fan so I doubt it came with an adaptor either.
