To be honest, I would put up with that system for 6 months, then you will have more to spend on a laptop for your travels.
If it can play DMMOM, I would have thought it will play oblivion on low?
EDIT: well, if you are going to be leaving it with your brother then maybe it would make sense to get a machine now. Probaby just go for a cheap core2duo rig with a reasonable GPU.
