i have always been wondering why the hard drives and cd burners bought from newegg dont come in their manufactured boxes and packages rather then coming in a big *** bubble wrap

are they like used or something? and do they come with any cables???

OEM is Original Equipment Manufacturer

however what it really means is that you just get the main product, no cables, manuals, or accesories just the main product. Open Box items come OEM and this is why you have to watch when buying them.

However when it comes to hard drives and opticals you only need an IDE or SATA cable which come with new motherboards and can be bought for a couple bucks if not.

thanks for claryfying that sora. so, are there any hard drive deals that are open box? coz wouldnt that be even cheaper and will be getting the same thing as the OEM?

You do not get your warranty, other than that they should be the exact same thing.
