lol, yeah, I'm pretty sure that you could put a Core 2 on there, not positive, but it looks like you can.


If I could get someone to confirm that for me, I'm not much of an Intel person

Yhea I would need confirmation of that before I l put that kind of cash down on a new processor. I just hope that some one wades in on the subject.

You can probably go to a P4 dual core, but you need to check with your bios to see if its doable. Also go to HPs web site and check the specs for your particular model. Below are some links that are related to your system specs.

Your best bet is to live with the P4, since the cost to upgrade isn't worth it in comparison to getting a brand new system.

What one is faster:-

The Pentium D 900 series Dual Core (Presler) {I am guessing this one}
OR
The Pentium D 800 series Dual Core (Smithfield)

Interesting side note the real place Prescot is just 5 minutes down the road from me </ pointless trivia>

as you can see the EE is more than just a unlocked p4 and better han a Pentium D

i doubt he wants to pay 1100$ for an outdated processor

To tell the truth I just want my one of my Bedroom comp to be faster so if I can fit a new processor I will do that.

Before u go conroe make sure your chipset supports it as well as your bios

The pins would be totally different on the dual core than the P4. So having to get a new mobo.
