When I Go to c:\ right click and go to format it sais "Windows cannot format this drive. Quit any disk utilities or other programs that are using this drive, and make sure no windows are displaying the contents of the drive. Then try formatting again" and all the windows are closed and i dont think anything is using the drive :S any help guys?

ummm. You have your windows installation on the C: right?

Windows would be using the drive then. You cant format the drive windows is on while running windows.

ive never re-formatted b4 so after i reformat what do i do to get everything working again?{windowz}

if you're running xp, due to NTFS, you have to delete partitions and do it that way.

Or at least thats the way i did it

No its not neccessary to delete the partitions in NTFS, you can just format, bt you have to use the XP Setup utility.

i havent split my drive up at all i only have the one partition {if thats what u would call it}
