Hey all,

I have a dell dimension 4600, my proc recently crapped out. Resulting from such I bought a new Pent 4 3.0ghz Prescott HT, 1 meg l2 cache. This is an upgrade over the 2.8 ghz northwood, 512kb l2, no HT proc that came with it. Now, will the standard fat arse aluminum heatsink+green ducting+fan that comes with most dells enough to keep this proc cool enough? I've bought a nice thing of Arctic Silver 5 for it.

Thanks for any help that may ensue. :)

That proc has been said to run a bit hot in most ALL reviews on newegg, so I definitely hope it's enough, as I'm not in the position to get a new HSF atm.

Although, I do believe this mobo has a standard three pin connector. EDIT: For the fan sorry, misread your post, any heatsink for a standard socket 478 will work.
