DVD/CD Drive Problem. Please Help!

Hello,
I received a computer from a friend (who didn't want it), and there were a number of problems with it. For example, the sound wasn't working (I was able to fix this problem). However, there is a problem I am having trouble fixing: the DVD/CD drive "ASUS E616 16x DVD + (I think) 40x CD" has a problem. In the device manager it says: "the driver may be corrupted or missing" and there is an exclamation mark next to it.

I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to resolve this matter,

check if the jumpers are on correctly and see if its recognized in the BIOS

does it show it on My Computer?

so reinstall the driver!
