what a great idea that is. the manufacturers of possibly the two biggest pc components working together, that shouldnt be a bad thing. amd seem to really be slacking, and ati... well... they seem to have failed, yet people say they were segmenting the market, and aiming for the lesser budget guys who still wanted DX10 and performance. id love to have been in the meeting where they suggested they were going to develop a product to be second best, and sell it at a alower price point. Unless they try and be complete cunts and take the stance that their products are so far ahead that they should charge excess prices, i cant see this being a bad thing. cooperation - even temporary - could lead to improved cpus and video cards.
