best sli mobo

im gona try to get a 8800gts on ebay... save some money, not really looking to get the highest clocks on it, maybe a slight oc. plus i trust ebay since i got a few computer components and they lasted for over a year, which im gona be only using this for no longer than 1.5 years.

i thought the cheapest 8800 was 285 (the leadtek)

but really, whats so bad about the 8600gts? i mean, can i max oblvion at 1600x1200 and 2x aa 8af?

HAH! You can't even do that with an 8800GTS really...I mean you get in the mid 50's but that's certaintly not the "best"

the 8600GTS isn't a very powerful card really...the X1950XT around the price destroys it.

mid 50's? that's not that bad! im not asking 200+ frames
i mean, i played with my x1600pro on an average of 20 fps and it was fine...

but can the x1950xt do d10?

No your right 50's are not bad but don't expect the 8600GTS get into the 40's even at max. Trust me the 8600GTS really isn't that powerful. No the X1950XT cannot do DX10 but when your 8600GTS won't be able to handle any DX10 games really then what the **** is the point?

here is what i need.

my x300se died a week ago, hence i cant get on my computer, i have to go on my dads lappy with a p3 and 256mb ram on win 2k. its not that fun.

i need a new graphics card, id love it if you keep it under 250, and no dx10 since everyone says theres no point in it. its a single card, no crossfire or sli. thank youj.

That is a very tough price range since you can get an 8800GTS 320 for like 290 but if you want a card in that range I would suggest an X1950XT 512mb for around 240 however I would just get an X1950XT 256mb for 180 bucks and save the rest on something else.

The X1950XT is a very powerful card for the money and the only things that beat it are itself, the XTX and the 8800 cards.
