to answer ur question bout the quads no, they are not that miuch difference right now as nerally no games/apps take advantage of 4 cores except video editing etc... but in the near future there we be a big advantage i would imagine.
 
Good choice of proccesor, for a little bit more money u can go for the 8800 gtx?
