2 things here....

it doesn't require a really good fan, any stock intel/amd cooler works, and u don't really need a high-end anything to overclock ur PC, u can easily overclock older athlon XP's and Pentium 4's, even P3's have been rumored to overclock

some guy overcloked a p3 from 400MHz to 800Mhz

yep that was really impressive... i was like omfg, maybe i can do that to my sister's P3 which was 500 mhz, its a compaq (i guess its just a compaq case) cuz i hit 750 mhz too bad the thing was unstable, dropped to 600 mhz and called it a day
